Casamento Religioso do Príncipe Felix e Princesa Claire do Luxemburgo / Religious Wedding of Prince Felix of Luxembourg and Princess Claire

Last Saturday was held the religious wedding ceremony of Prince Felix and Princess Claire of Luxembourg in the Basilica of Sainte Marie-Madeleine in the French town of Saint-Maximin-La Saint-Beume. The couple had already married on a civil ceremony on last Tuesday, in Germany.

Also the religious ceremony was simple and understated, but still ... WOW! It's all I have to say!

A noiva / The Bride

Adoro absolutamente tudo neste visual. E foi-o. Oh, como foi!
I almost can not describe this outfit. Claire was a vision of  lace and class, beauty and simplicity, happiness and romance.
I love absolutely everything in this look. A perfect vintage style by Elie Saab (Luxembourg ladies favorite gala dressmake). The couture house disclosed that the design was meant to be an ode to the delicacy. And it was. Oh, it  really was!

The dress was made of cream silk embroidered with  floral motifs all over with chantilly lace and silver thread. Small pearl beads and crystals gave an additional glow to this dress. The long-sleeved dress had a V-neck on the back. Also the long veil was made of ivory silk tulle embroidered with floral motifs perfectly matched with the pattern of the dress. The tail and veil were about three feet long.

The new princess of Luxembourg chose the larger of the two floral tiaras from the Grand Ducal Collection. Little is known of the piece, only that it is from the second half of the nineteenth century. It is seen in very few occasions, the last one was during the Pre-Wedding Dinner of the Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume with Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy. At that time, it adorned the head of the current Hereditary Grand Duchess. However Claire is actually the 5th bride of the Grand Ducal Family, that choose this tiara for a day so special. Claire still wore some diamond earrings also used by Stéphanie last October. Also the Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore these earrings on her wedding day.

There were those who thought that Claire could have chosen a different creator that her sister -in law, Princess Stephanie. There were those who thought that the dress was too elaborate and so many flowers caused distraction and took off the attention from the bride. I tell you and I'm not any fashion expert, but looking at the whole, I am of the opinion that whoever gives shine to the dress is Claire. She has the kind of serene beauty and simplicity which makes the dress shine, not the richness of  the embroidery, but the delicacy of personality that conveys of the bride. Any other bride could lose herself in this dress. But never Claire. All the refinement and complexity of the design blooms when we look at the face of the bride! And is the serene expression of this women that is the great detail of this set! Divine!
As for comparisons with Stéphanie's bridal gown last year, you tell me: what do they prefer?

Os Noivos / The Bride & Groom

Aqui ficam alguns.
There were several tender moments between Felix and Claire over the ceremony and out of the Church. Here are a few.

Os Convidados /The Guests

It was a low-key wedding, but still had the presence of some surprise guests.
But let's start by Grand Ducal Family of Luxembourg.

The groom arrived with his mother, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa who chose a flashy fuscia outfit, with some lace applications, by Armani. The color is divinely opto MT and I only praise the fact that this time she did not bring an encharpe with her. The pink shoes were also unecessary!

The Grand Duke Henri accompanied the bride's mother, Gabriele Lademacher, at the arrival. I was amused that the sovereign wore a  tie to match his wife's dress. Gabriele surprisingly chose an ivory tone, a model very similar to that daughter chose for the civil ceremony.

The future sovereign couple of Luxembourg to complete themselfs for the next month the first wedding anniversary, were visibly happy and excited. Princess Stéphanie chose a blue mint (?) dress, which she matched with a lace coat of the Belgian creator Stéphanie Le Grelle, shoes and clutch and nude in an original hat in the same tones. The hat is the only piece I safe here, and note that I do not think the model ugly, but  I get this feeling that they are the clothes who wear Stephánie and not the other way around. There is something that just don´t fit here.

Princess Tessy accompanied on this picture by her husband Prince Louis (right) and his brother Prince Sébastien, chose again a Calvin Klein dress and a unique hat in purple tones. I thought the shades too dark for a wedding in an idyllic French Provençal setting. Too morbid! The children of Louis and Tessy, Gabriel and Noah, were pageboys.

Desculpem-me.
One of the most talked about outfits of the day, apart from the bride's dress. And why was that, you might ask?
Well for two reasons in particular. Princess Alexandra, sister of the groom, was one of the witnesses and as such she was one of the six ladies who could wear a long dress. Alexandra is beautiful, and I will be angry with those who say otherwise, but, as her mother, she does not always know to choose the ways that favor her the most. In this case the dress for its shape and color highlighted Alix's plump forms. But if she's happy with it, fine with me. The second reason was the resemblance to a certain dress worn last year by a certain Windsor Duchess. Obviously the Katemania fan-club guessed that this girl (that many did not even know she was a princess of Luxembourg) was copying the new Queen of Style. Excuse me. I have nothing against Catherine, nor against people who follow her style, BUT it annoys me big way that people assume that no one else can have similar tastes, without being copying someone when quite honestly, in regards to Catherine there is very little to copy, since her style is boring, not refreshing and extremely predictable. Interestingly the dress assumed that Alexandra had copied, risks being one of the best (if not the best) look of the Duchess so far. And yet, they were wrong, because although similar, the dresses have different creators. The Princess Alexandra wore a creation of Tadashi Ghoji, while the Duchess of Cambridge chose Jenny Packham. Two very similar models, two different people, similar tastes.

One of the big surprises came from the Monegasque representation.
Pierre Casiraghi, younger son of Princess Caroline of Hanover attended with his girlfriend Beatrice Borromeo.
This girl enchants me in every appearance. Despite the fact the pink blush suit, it´s too masculine for my taste, her beauty, elegance and personality have not gone unnoticed. Here is a wedding in Monaco for which I am curious about.

    1. Right? She is perfect. However with a different type of beauty this look could be a bit too much.. But on Claire's it works in perfection!!
